The spammer reviewer must be stopped
An Open Letter to the Editors of AllMusic
Dear AllMusic team,
I’ve been with you since the All Music Guide first appeared on the Web in the mid-1990s, not long after Michael Erlewine’s Gopher archive became a fully fledged website.
Your liner-note rigour taught me how to listen, and since 1999 I’ve written a few hundred long-form reviews myself. Even when I demolished Cher’s Believe, I spelled out why—because an artist deserves at least that much respect.
That respect is exactly what’s missing from huge swathes of the current user-review feed. One profile—Simone Appolloni—now shows 60 015 reviews spanning 82

Absence of Gothic, and Gothic Rock (in the All Music Guide book!)
Dear people,
All music staff, I was trying to explain a newbie what Gothic Rock was, and I got the best reference I could get. In my inquiry over "Genre Essays and Maps" (by p.1303) I could find "The Birth of Rock N'Roll, Garage, Psychedelic etc. But nothing relating to Gothic! Owl my god, what a fiasco. I went on your online database and couldn't find it as well. Pardon my ignorance, but by hitting Goth in your search field, I can only find Albums and Singles. None related to the genre. Sincerely, Marcio Hendrik Musician / Producer artigoaudio.com

Something went wrong with the labeling of classical albums in Featured New Releases for April 4, 2025.
When one uses the pulldown menus for "Week of April 4" and "Classical," the results are not classical albums.

The Everly Brothers cover of Little Richard's 'Keep A Knockin' FIRST appears on their very first self-titled album.
The Everly Brothers bad ass cover of Little Richard's 'Keep A Knockin' first appears on their very first self-titled album. You don't have that listed as an Everlys album it appears on!

Killing you softly
Usually I support sites I like and follow. But allmusic is stepping on my nerves so heavily with all these horroble advertisements!! You can't even read the articles without being constantly disturbed by popups. So what would you do with my money? Encrease these advertisers?? Oh no!!!!!!!!!!

Why multiple pages for the same song?
I have used the site to look up songs to see what albums they appear on, but as time has gone by, there has been clutter added by new pages for a song being created just to show another album the song is part of. This makes it necessary to access all the pages for a song to see all the albums for a song. If you want paid subscriptions, you need to consolidate everything into a single page per song ... otherwise it isn't worth paying for.
It's bad enough that Bryan Adams made things harder by demanding his

Cannot access site on Firefox
I have a membership but when I try to navigate to the site it's just a blank page, no way to view or login. The page is visible with the Vivaldi browser but I prefer to use Firefox.
This just began today.

Problem with subscription renewal
On March 22, 2025 I used the PayPal link provided to pay $16 in order to renew my long expired (2018, sorry) subscription. I received a receipt from PayPal acknowledging payment to Netaktion LLC, however the subscription renewal is not being acknowledged by AllMusic. I tried clearing the browser cache as recommended as well as logging out and logging back in (after successfully changing my password), however I'm still receiving a message requesting that I subscribe plus my account settings still show my subscription having expired in 2018. Thank you.

still seeing ads but I have a paid subscription
I appreciate the forum but I'd appreciate a direct response from someone at All Music directly.

What's this shit? When I last used the site in 2021, you provided real information, like the track lists of obscure albums. Now all I see is the stuff I ALREADY FSCKING KNEW, like the name of the artist and album. Exactly what value are you providing? Or

Now all I see is the stuff I ALREADY FSCKING KNEW, like the name of the artist and album. Exactly what value are you providing? Or to put it bluntly, WTF do you think I'm going to resubscribe for? What value am I getting for my money in 2025 (unlike in 2021)?

Your database is obviously corrupt. Entries in alphabetic vs. album view return different resultsnt
Composers that are not shown in the ALPHABETIC view do show up in the ALBUM view. How did you guys managed to do that?

Remembering Joey Molland
I noticed that Joey Molland of Badfinger hasn't yet been included in your "In Memoriam" posts. He passed away on March 1 at the age of 77. He was the last surviving member of Badfinger's most famous lineup.

Not "ad free" in the "New Music This Week" newsletter
Hi, I've been an "Ad Free" subscriber for years now, and always got my "New Music This Week" newsletter ad free, but all of a sudden, a few weeks or so back, I started getting ads in those. I first noticed because I wasn't getting them at all, and (understandably) my spam detector starting flagging them as spam when they became full of dodgy Medicare ads and what not.
I've since whitelisted the newsletter as not spam, but it's much worse now that it's full of horrible ads. What gives? Why am I no longer "ad free" despite paying for

How about making a site that works?
Your buggy-ass site keeps asking me to disable my adblocker even though I'm a subscriber, and you have no contact email, so this complaint is just going to disappear into the void and nothing will get fixed.

I've subscribed today, but I still see the adblocker pop-up. Emptying cache doesn't help and to my surprise I don't see my subscription in 'paid subscriptions'
