    Account malfunction

Andrew · 2 · Last reply by Zac

When I open allmusic the menu bar no longer displays my user name or the settings icon. Nor does it display the "sign up / log in" links. The "my profile" link doesn't work, and other search and sort functions don't work. I've cleared the browsing cache and restarted the computer. I can't log on or off. Any suggestions?

Pop-up ad blocks “appears on” list in song info

Derrick Pohl · 1 · Last reply by Zac

On my iPhone SE 2020, running iOS 15.3.1, a pop-up ad blocks the first item in the “Appears On” album list on a Song Info page such as this one.

It happens in Safari and Firefox, but not in Chrome or Edge. It’s also a new problem that only began occurring in the past few weeks — at least, that’s when I noticed it.

I’ve attached a screenshot from Safari showing the problem.

P.S. A new problem I just discovered is that I can’t paste copied text into this message form. That’s why I had to give the URL for the

Recommendations show albums that have already been rated

Recently (about one week ago) on the page "Recommendations" began to show albums, which I had previously rated. It shouldn't be like this, right?

    Wilco review-bombing

Cam · 4 · Last reply by Murray Winship

It looks like someone review-bombed the album Cruel Country by Wilco. Over 40 one-star reviews in one day, that can't be right. Also, upvoting all negative reviews and downvoting all positive ones. Hopefully this gets looked into - that kind of behavior shouldn't be allowed or encouraged on this site.

no "not interested" option in recommendation section

Elisabeth Richardson · 2 · Last reply by Terry

I used to be able to hone the recommendations I receive by clicking "not interested" for albums that were bad recommendations. Why is that no longer an option?

AllMusic is being updated. Hold tight!

Mark Easton · 3 · Last reply by Oleksii

For the last few months I have lost all access to AllMusic. I am in New Zealand. So there is no reason we would be blocked. AllMusic is always being updated. I have a paid subscription. I have tried to contact AllMusic but I guess they don’t care. Never got an answer. So I am losing all faith in AllMusic. I guess I would like my subscription money back if they are going to block me. I tried to support you. You in turn don’t give a toss about me, Finally found this forum,

    Allmuic adverts are hogging resources.

    Mark Terrell · 0 · Posted

Allmuic pages are hogging resources. Memory and download time. This seems to be because of video adverts, it makes allmusic unausable.

I don't have problems with other websites, just yours.

I am switching to discogs for a while, sorry , but some of your pages are literally unusable.

The site is falsely flagging me for "using an ad blocker"

The first thing I see of your site is it whining about my ad blocker, completely obscuring all of the content.

One problem though: WHAT ad blocker? I'M ON A PHONE! My browser is in its stock configuration, I don't even think it has an option to add an ad blocker. And if one is built in, I can't do anything with it.

So you've blocked me from viewing your website for literally no fault of mine, thanks.

    Simone Appolloni's reviews in AllMusic

David Anglin · 1 · Last reply by Karl

You have already mounted an impassioned defense of Simone Appolloni's reviews in AllMusic, but your defense is weak. His/her reviews are banal, sophomoric, and purposefully contrarian or negative. I have yet to see a positive or even neutral review. You say he is not a bot, but look, the reviews read like a bot - they are all canned, repetitive. And especially, they are unhelpful. Why would someone spew so much nonsense onto your site? The only good thing about the reviews is at least they are thankfully brief. Why you let Simone Appolloni remain as a reviewer is a

slide-out ad blocks content on iPad

rootsmusic · 2 · Last reply by Zac

(This isn't the only advertiser whose ad slides out.)  Ads are sliding out to overlay the content on my iPad.  When I scroll up/down, the slide-out ad scrolls along so I can't read what's being overlayed.  The ads also don't have a control to be closed.

Why multiple pages for the same song?

    K.M. Richards · 1 · Last reply by Zac

I have used the site to look up songs to see what albums they appear on, but as time has gone by, there has been clutter added by new pages for a song being created just to show another album the song is part of.  This makes it necessary to access all the pages for a song to see all the albums for a song.  If you want paid subscriptions, you need to consolidate everything into a single page per song ... otherwise it isn't worth paying for.

It's bad enough that Bryan Adams made things harder by demanding his

    Incorrect Composer Information

    Orpnod · 0 · Posted

On The Johnny Lee Album "13th of July" you have three songs improperly identified for Composer. The three songs are "I'd Marry You Again", "Leanna", and "Goin' Nowhere Fast". You have them listed as composed by a Michael Bush and the link is to someone unrelated. The correct composer information on all three songs is: Don Procunier and Michael R. Bush(deceased) This can easily be validated by BMI. Please make the corrections. Thank You

Site is taking too long to load.

Brian · 2 · Last reply by Brian

The homepage loads quickly.  I have no other issues on any other webpages, but the actually loading of bands and discographies is taking up to 1 minute to load.  It seems to be a glitch loading graphics on the website.  I am a member, and I've been having this problem for at least a month.  Tonight it made it very difficult to do basic research.

There is no diversity in your new-release selection

    Dejan Momcilovic · 0 · Posted

Hi I´ve been using All Music for ages but I can conclude that it is oriented towards a few genres.

I really like All Music but what pervades your weekly list of new releases are: Pop/Rock - 60 % -

    Classical - 15-20 %

Rest. I think there should be other, (more innovative) styles included in your All Music. After all - if it´s ALL music, make sure the site doesn´t exclude music.  Best regards, Dejan

discography of primary artist with backing band

rootsmusic · 5 · Last reply by rootsmusic

Because an artist can have multiple backing bands (and both can change their names), I expect an artist's solo discography to include albums that also bill the artist's backing bands.  For most artists, Allmusic does a pretty good job pulling in albums that are billed to the artist and a backing band.  (For a few artists, Allmusic errors on the side of inclusion by pulling in albums that aren't billed to the artist as their primary artist but instead "feature" the artist as their guest.)

I'm against combining any artist with his/her backing band into a performing group.  (I don't
