The mobile version of Allmusic does not work well. At all. Please improve this point of access, as I imagine I am not the only one who listens to music and reads your indispensable content at the same time using a phone.

Frequently it just crashes. Invariably in crashes when reading your articles.

Hi Zac. I don’t think I’ve seen it crash after delivering search results.

Thanks. We're working with our advertisers currently on having them serve lighter-weight ads. That is really what slows the pages down, unfortunately.

A quick question, if you do a search and get to a search results page, does the page ever crash there? Even if you sit on it for a while?

Or our "Discover" page? Does that ever crash?

Zac, I don't recall crashes on Advanced Search.  Usually, I use type-ahead search though.  I do suspect the ads are causing crashes, because the page can't finish loading.  If both the page and its ads finish loading, then it won't crash.

Hi Zac,

The most frequent problem is website crash and auto reload when reading either biographies or album reviews using an iPhone. Occasionally the website will not allow a search for an artist or album, and will freeze when typing the search text. Thanks for looking into it!

Hi Erik,

Can you give us a little more information on your experience? What type of mobile phone do you use and which browser? Are you able to access the site for a period of time and then it crashes? Or does it crash as soon as you open a page?

This detail will help us to troubleshoot solutions.

Zac, the website often crashes on my iPad (and tries to reload until it gives up).  It usually happens on a discography page.  I'm browsing with Safari 15 on iOS.  Thanks.

(Sorry Zac, I didn't mean the discography page.)  I meant the bio and album pages.  On these pages, it'll crash as soon as the pages try to finish loading for the first time.  But sometimes it won't crash, so I think it depends on which ads.
