Thumbs down feature

All Music must do away with the “Thumbs Down” feature as there are trolls that “thumbs down” many of the truly informative reviews just for the sake of the feature being there.

The worthless reviews often stay up while I’ve had many posts removed. Is this something the admins can check on?

The good news is that despite the fact that these review examples have indeed gotten one thumbs-down, your stuff is given 10 times as many thumbs up which elevates many of them to the top of the list!

We use this kind of community policing to allow our users to promote the reviews they find most helpful to organize them to the top of the list, and also a way for users to downvote a review (for whatever reason) so that those less helpful reviews float to the bottom.

Readers can be opinionated and choose to Thumbs Down a review for whatever reason they see fit (maybe they were looking for more information about the recording techniques, maybe they dislike a song that the reviewer has highlighted as a favorite) but the mechanism of using the community to promote the most helpful reviews to the top (and drop less helpful rants to the bottom) is a function that is working as intended.

Makes sense. Thank you for such clarification.

My Be Bop Deluxe “Live! In The Air Age” I felt was informative, yet someone felt that providing such information deserved a thumbs down???

Take a close look at the informative user reviews for Genesis’s “Foxtrot” for example of what I mean.

Hi Charles,

Can you give us an example of an album where the worthwhile reviews are being downvoted?

We can take a look.

My original Stranglers “The Gospel According To Themeninblack” originally Damned the professional review, yet I went back corrected it without the negative feedback.

My review for Kansas’s “Leftoverture”?
