Why am I still seeing ads?

I paid for an ad free experience but I'm still getting ads I paid you via pay pal on 01/14/2022

Hey Mike,

Sorry about that. We do see your payment via PayPal but it somehow never got registered in our internal system.

We've updated your subscription and it should be valid through the end of April 2023.

A quick note: Your browser may still be caching the pages you've already been to and you might see ad if you revisit those pages. Try doing a hard refresh of the page or clearing your browser cache

Hello AMG, I've been a paid member for a few years, lately I keep seeing ads though it says I'm logged in. I cleared cache, history, but that did not help. It's frustrating because I'm paying for ad-free and I use this site a lot - the ads make the site unusable. Is this being fixed? I'd rather not pay if I'm going to see ads and a slow site anyway.

We're seeing issues currently with subscribed users (logged in, subscription up-to-date, everything correct on your end) still seeing ads after a set period of time.

We're actively working on solving it.

In the meantime (as dumb as it sounds) we've found that simply logging out and logging back in seems to reset the timer and makes the ads go away.

Obviously this extra step should not be necessary but until we solve the issue on our side it has seemed to work.

I'm having the same problem. Logging out and back in did not help.

Sorry about that.

As part of the site update we also updated the codebase, thus encryption methods changed.  Clearing cache and removing any old cookies might be best way to get everything back working properly (with no old cookies lingering to confuse and conflict with the new code).

If all else fails, clearing your cache should remove the ads.
