Public profile and photo blank
Nothing shows up under the artist name, and the songs are not associated with the album.
Been there and done all that, that's why I'm here because nothing uploaded or typed in shows up on the page when it is set to public (not private)
I see.
On AllMusic, we display information about musicians and bands (like Bob Dylan and The Beatles) as well as indie musicians.
This information (albums, songs, images, biographies) all come from our data provider.
The information from our data provider appears on the artist pages: https://www.allmusic.com/artist/mike-defoy-mn0003985485
We also have personal account pages where music fans can create a profile, track their music collections, rate and review their favorite albums, etc.
The information assigned to these pages by our users would appear on their Profile page: https://www.allmusic.com/profile/mikedefoy
My public profile exists. It can be viewed but is stuck on private, even though when you go in to change it to public it already says that it's public. What's going on here?
Hi Mike,
Maybe I'm not being clear, or maybe I'm confused.
You're looking at two different page types.
The "Artist" page https://www.allmusic.com/artist/mike-defoy-mn0003985485 is the page of albums and information that is published by our data provider. This is the same type of page that The Beatles or Bob Dylan or Miles Davis would have. A page of factual editorial information put into the database by a company that creates and publishes music metadata.
The "Profile" page https://www.allmusic.com/profile/mikedefoy is a user-created page that allows music fans to share their favorite albums, their ratings, their followed artists etc. This is not a page for musicians or bands to update their Artist page. Users can choose to make that page public and share their favorites with others, or make it private to keep the profile only visible to themselves.
You're in a unique situation because you are a published musician with an Artist page (just like Bob Dylan and Miles Davis) but you've also created a personal Profile page (where users and music fans can upload a photo of themselves and put in a short bio about what they like).
These two pages do not speak to each other.
Uploading an image on your user Profile page will not display that image on the professional Artist page.
Writing a brief bio about yourself on your user Profile page will not publish that bio on the professional Artist page.
