Pop up ads making site unusable

I visited the site for the first time in a while, hoping I might be able to use it more regularly fore tracking and reviewing music. Your pop-up ads (especially the side banners you can't get rid of) on mobile and even on my laptop mean if I see AllMusic as a suggested site, I'll avoid it. The below is supposedly a music website:

I think we have the video ad player actually closing when you tell it to close.

Are you still seeing this annoying behavior?

It looks to be fixed, much appreciated!

Thanks Zac. It's a small change, but it would allow folks to view the actual content on the page.

Thanks Zac. It's a fair price for a subscription.

What is most annoying is that one square pop-up ad to the right as it covers up content, and it doesn't actually work; it can't actually be closed. If that wasn't there or could actually be closed, the site would be so much better.

Let me talk to our ad provider and see if they can better honor that close button.

You're not wrong.
We do have a lot of ads on the site.

We've needed to move to a more aggressive ad model for many reasons.

We also have a subscription version where users can support AllMusic and get a faster ad-free experience. https://www.allmusic.com/subscribe

A hugely annoying issue is that the video ads offer a X in the corner to close them...but when I click the X I'm served a different ad in return. I realize AllMusic isn't creating the ads but this just makes being forced to watch video ads that much worse.
