New release sort is broken

Secondary sorting on the New Releases list is broken. You can still click a column header to sort but previously if you selected something other than Artist it would sort by what you selected and then by Artists.

For example, I like to sort by Genre so I can go through all the new releases for a week, skipping the genres I'm not interested in. The list used to sort by genre and then within genres sort by artist. Now it just seems to be random within genres.

Yeah, this has recently happened with another entry too - see below. The review below has been around for a couple of weeks now but it unlike all the other new uploaded reviews, it doesn't seem to have registered properly in a way that pushes it to the top of the search with all the other rated releases.

We opened a ticket with our data provider and they indicated that for this specific Tierra Whack album, the rating had not properly made it over to their sorting algorithm and therefore was getting a ranking lower score than it should have.

They're looking into this and hope to resolve it.

Good to know. Hopefully your data provider's fix will solve that problem for every affected release on the database. If it only fixes the ones we've found, here are other recent entries that possibly have the same issue - Quardic Surfaces - Hieroglyphic Being, Fletcher - In Search of the Antidote.

It's also affected several classical releases, stretching back to Nikita Mndoyants - Prokofiev: Piano Sonatas 4 & 8; Scherzo; Mndoyants: Nocturne, which was released on February 16th.

That is weird.

We'll take a look.

Paying a little more attention, it looks like it's actually sorting by the length of the artist name.
