Searching songs became very difficult

Something has changed recently that makes searching for songs by just typing title and artist very difficult. For example, typing 'eddie chacon haunted memories' would get me straight to that song, as it should, but now it returns no results. So either I have to type 'haunted memories' now, filter for songs and scroll down looking for the one I need (very timeconsuming sometimes), or I have to search for 'eddie chacon' and then click through to the full list of songs on his artist profile (idem ditto). It would be wonderful if you could simply reverse whatever change has been made that is causing this, because it is rather aggravating. Thanks in advance!

There is a bug in our search databuilding and we are working to fix it as we speak.

I'm searching for "Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)".  But the first page of song results don't include its original recording, which was the most popular song.

The search is still missing things, however, perhaps again at the level it always used to. 'riz ortolani savage rites', for example, does not return the song, even though it can be found in your database by looking up Riz Ortolani and then browsing the songs.

This is a little confusing but I can try to explain.

For some albums in the database, we don't have a link between the performer and the song.

You can see in the search results page that we don't list Riz Ortolani as the performer:
https://www.allmusic.com/search/songs/savage+rite

On the album page, if we don't have a link between the song title and the performer BUT we see that the album has a single performer (and is not a various artist album or soundtrack) we will display the name associated with the album down in the tracklist:

https://www.allmusic.com/album/cannibal-holocaust-mw0000704342

So in this instance, the reason that you can't search our system for 'riz ortolani savage rites' is because we don't have a hard link between that artist and that song title.

Thanks for the explanation! I did notice that this tends to happen with rather obscure albums that haven't been reviewed. :)

Yeah, it gets a little confusing but our thought is that it is better to cascade the data down visually where we can, even if there isn't a full link between the performer and each song title.

Interestingly, the song is also listed here, which really does suggest a link between song and performer. :)
