Liturgy Discography
Really enjoyed Thom Jurek's recent review of Liturgy's new record, 93696. However, I was left slightly bemused by some of the entries in the act's discography. It seems that a couple of different acts also using the 'Liturgy' name have been merged into their discography:
- 'Associated Arts' was actually a one-off record, recorded by a group of musicians, which included Sean Bendickson and Zach Varnell. It was produced by Hilltop Health Ministries. I couldn't find any official website for them, possibly because it was release twenty years ago. Amazon has a statement from Hilltop Health Ministries' Executive Director Elliot Stockstad, regarding the record (link).
- 'Dawn of Ash' is the lone album from a death metal band also called Liturgy, from Knoxville Tennessee. They consist of Jamie Bailey, Mike Bailey, Matti Way and Jon Engman (link). You can still find the album on their bandcamp (link). Unfortunately, as its another release from the early 00s, there isn't much about them on their label's website (link).
Could someone separate those two albums entries from Liturgy and give them their own artist entries instead?
Also, Liturgy's bandcamp labels both Immortal Life (link) and their split with Oval (link) as EPs. Both are very short by usual release standards. Is it worth re-catagorising them?
