Recommendations lack diversity, even though I listen to a wide range of music.

I’ve noticed that whenever I view my AllMusic recommendations, it only shows mostly jazz albums and a handful of classic rock. I do listen to these genres, but I also listen to a lot of other music, such as modern pop, country, R&B, rock, metal, and much more. Is the recommendations feature still being improved, or is there something I need to do in order to receive more accurate recommendations? Thanks!

The recommendations are built off of the albums you've rated, particularly trying to match albums based on a snapshot of the genres and styles of albums you've rated highly.

If you assign album ratings to the albums you love, you should receive albums in similar genres and styles, however it still needs some work. The tricky part is that if we look at 100 albums you have rated highly in the past, and that snapshot has a high percentage of classic rock albums or jazz albums, we see those as the styles you're most interested in.

Similarly, since we try to return "good" albums as recommendations, the albums with higher ratings (often older albums) will be the ones that come back.

The recommendations should refresh every hour, so maybe check back from time to time and see if our snapshot for you at that time has grabbed some other lesser-populated styles and is offering recommendations based off of those.

We're still working on tweaking it to offer a wider representation of good albums for you to investigate.

Thanks for the feedback.
