    Wrong artist name

    Ronit · 0 · Posted

    Hello,

This is a request to you to please change the name of artist from R.J. Khan to RJ Khan (remove the periods) into your database and also on AllMusic.com.

My submitted sheets previously mentioned RJ Khan as primary artist, so I humbly request you to please rename me accordingly.

    Artist's AllMusic page url: https://www.allmusic.com/artist/rj-khan-mn0004164543

    Some proofs of name:

Hopefully you'll be able to help me after these. The same has already been forwarded to Xperi, like 5-6 months ago.

Again, waiting for your positive reply.

    Thanks &

    Incorrect credits

Nicholas Clark (Froghat) is incorrectly listed on the credits of John Baptiste's Saturday Night as the bass player. That is a different musician with the same name.

In the bio for Top drawer it states that their album was a "rare but-not-good record" but the discography rating gives it 4 1/2 stars! :-)

Discrepancy between biography assessment ("not good") of the Top Drawer album and the AMG rating of 4.5 stars.

enable multiple selections for credits at album-level

    rootsmusic · 0 · Posted

On an album page, I'm hoping that it's easy to enable multiple selections for credited roles (like the credits section on an artist page).  Doing so would be especially helpful for credits of multi-disc albums.

May 2012 Staff Picks page missing

Ben Hart · 2 · Last reply by Ben Hart

The May 2012 Staff Picks page reports a 503 error:

    https://www.allmusic.com/staff-picks/may-2012

April and June from that year are both available so I'm assuming it's an issue rather than that there weren't any picks for that month

Edit:  Same for July and August 2012 https://www.allmusic.com/staff-picks/july-2012

    misfiled review

rootsmusic · 2 · Last reply by rootsmusic

The first sentence of Lindsay's review says: "This 20-song collection highlights some rare selections from Foy Willing and the Riders of the Purple Sage."  However, her review was under another artist's 8-song album.

    outsourcing data-entry

    rootsmusic · 0 · Posted

Not only are there missing albums, but Xperi's data is also becoming more and more incomplete for albums that its editors aren't reviewing.  For many of these albums, Xperi has decided to skip data-entry of track listings or credits or composers.  If Xperi is earning more from its customers, the customers are getting less data in return.

I think that Xperi would be happy to reduce its workload for data-entry to only albums that its editors are reviewing.  By reducing its workload this way, Xperi would cut its operating costs.  I also think that Xperi would be willing to pay

Reporting a problem with may own profile/discography

Heshima Moja · 2 · Last reply by Tasha

Hello. My name is Heshima Moja. I am reaching out because I am consistently encountering a problem with my OWN discography on your page/my profile page. It is my understanding that releases should automatically appear when I release new music. As well, I should be seeing credits from work I have done with other artists. I have reach out out several times and get NO response from your pages admins. How do I rectify this problem? Why is there NO way for me to upload my own material or to fix these problems?

Last year this cost me my entry

An Open Letter to the Editors of AllMusic

    Dear AllMusic team,

I’ve been with you since the All Music Guide first appeared on the Web in the mid-1990s, not long after Michael Erlewine’s Gopher archive became a fully fledged website.

Your liner-note rigour taught me how to listen, and since 1999 I’ve written a few hundred long-form reviews myself. Even when I demolished Cher’s Believe, I spelled out why—because an artist deserves at least that much respect.

That respect is exactly what’s missing from huge swathes of the current user-review feed. One profile—Simone Appolloni—now shows 60 015 reviews spanning 82

Absence of Gothic, and Gothic Rock (in the All Music Guide book!)

Marcio Hendrik · 2 · Last reply by Marcio Hendrik

    Dear people,

All music staff, I was trying to explain a newbie what Gothic Rock was, and I got the best reference I could get. In my inquiry over "Genre Essays and Maps" (by p.1303) I could find "The Birth of Rock N'Roll, Garage, Psychedelic etc. But nothing relating to Gothic! Owl my god, what a fiasco. I went on your online database and couldn't find it as well. Pardon my ignorance, but by hitting Goth in your search field, I can only find Albums and Singles. None related to the genre. Sincerely, Marcio Hendrik Musician / Producer artigoaudio.com

When one uses the pulldown menus for "Week of April 4" and "Classical," the results are not classical albums.

    expand user base

rootsmusic · 2 · Last reply by rootsmusic

In order to survive, Allmusic needs to expand its user base.  Doing so will add more subscribers, at the risk of pandering to commercialism, minimizing indie artists and feeding into the marketing cycle.  If social media pop can become viral, then Allmusic should jump on the TikTok bandwagon.

The Everly Brothers cover of Little Richard's 'Keep A Knockin' FIRST appears on their very first self-titled album.

The Everly Brothers bad ass cover of Little Richard's 'Keep A Knockin' first appears on their very first self-titled album. You don't have that listed as an Everlys album it appears on!
