I’m trying to contact Craig Harris.

    Artist Biography by Craig Harris

A founding member of Osibisa, Abdul Lasisi Amao helped bring the London-based band's exciting style of Afro-pop and funk fusion to the international stage. His most innovative work, however, was the album Aiye -- Keta, recorded in 1973 with Remi Kabaka on piano, drums, conga, rhythm guitar, Moog drum, and vocals; and Stevie Winwood (who was recuperating from an illness that had resulted in an extended hiatus from Traffic) on keyboards, guitar, and vocals. Amao and Kabaka had previously collaborated as members of Ginger Baker's short-lived Afro-Anglo band, Air Force. Although the album, which was

    Synth-pop = pop?

ElectroGhost · 2 · Last reply by Zac

    Is Synth-pop also pop music?

Most music companies like Billboard include all of Synth-pop music into pop chart. I have never see any chart site categorized synth-pop as new wave.

    collaboration recording type

rootsmusic · 1 · Last reply by Zac

I usually find collaboration records to be interesting.  So I'm suggesting collaborations as a Recording Type.  If the Recording Type doesn't already exist, then collaborations can be identified when credits include more than one Primary Artist.  Thanks.

Advanced Search's filter shows some styles but not others.  For example, it's not matching any retro or revival styles.

Let's talk about Eurodance and a subgenre called "Bubblegum dance"

ElectroGhost · 1 · Last reply by Zac

I've always been confused by the "Eurodance" genre. There are some things I don't understand.

When I listen to Eurodance songs from the beginning (90's), Eurodance sounds like Italo House. Then, I looked at the naming history of Eurodance. Eurodance became known in the mid 90's, when Corona released "The Rhythm of the Night". Then I listened to the song, and it sounded like... Europop?

Some press sites and music services are also confused by this genre. Most common people think that Eurodance is Europop!

Also, from this Eurodance came a mixed genre called "Bubblegum dance", a mixed genre of

Hey Zac and the rest of the forum team. Hope you are all doing well.

As alluded to at the end of my previous request, there are additional new albums I've been hoping to see reviewed. It's been a while since they were released so I'm curious to know if anyone is still planning on covering them:

    1. Little Simz - Sometimes I Might Be Introvert We'll start with a familiar name. You may remember that a request was made two years ago to review this artist's previous album - Grey Area. As the response was very positive, I'm kinda

Why has Allmusic consistently ignored the progressive bluegrass genre?

Michael Duey · 7 · Last reply by Zac

I've used and subscribed to Allmusic for many years and have read, agreed, disagreed, recommended this site to others, and learned so much. I have wide, eclectic tastes that the site usually covers, but, the progressive bluegrass coverage is barely minimal. The most recent and major example is Billy Strings. Not a single bit of music has been reviewed, induing the new album that dropped yesterday, 9/24/21. This young man is a major talent and is pushing genres and boundries hard and is going to be a major, major player.

Hope you listen in and enjoy!

Can Eden Ahbez’s bio be replaced by a less biased one?

Erik Erickson · 2 · Last reply by Erik Erickson

The bio for Eden Ahbez directly insults his entire style of music. The author, Richie Unterberger, is seemingly an expert in rock music but not jazz or Exotica. Is it possible to replace it with something less biased against the musician and by a more qualified author?

    Relevant excerpts from the bio:

“Ahbez's modern stature rests on a 1960 album that mixed exotica album and beatnik poetry. It rates as one of the goofiest efforts in the goofy exotica genre -- and brother, that's saying something, given the stiff competition.”

    and:

“That doesn't mean that his desert-island paradise trip doesn't
