Advanced Search Engine Issue - Dec 2021

Is there currently an ongoing issue with the Advanced Search engine?

Several recent reviews don't seem to be showing up on it. For example: Arca's Kick quadrology or a selection of hip hop releases such as Haram, Pray for Haiti or Half God.

In addition, many of the reviews uploaded in the last few months still aren't lining up with the 'AllMusic Rating' column, when it's selected. Take a look at the picture attached - Montero was released, reviewed and rated in September but it's still treated as being unrated by the search engine.

I know the holiday period can bring a halt to things but are there still plans to look further into this issue? Weirdly, 'Montero' was intergrated into searches several days ago but otherwise the problem still persists.

There are a number of compounding issues with the advanced search data set that are becoming increasingly difficult to manage. Our data provider has been working on a completely new system to replace repeatedly failing old system. We hope to roll this out within the next month or so.

A completely new system!?! Looking forward to seeing in action. Hope it gives everyone involved less grief than the current one.

Is this change just for the advanced search engine, or is this to coincide with another website revamp too?

Live in Stuttgart 1975 was released in May. Though it doesn't show when 'Live Recordings' is selected on the filter options. Live in Dublin 1975 was released last week but I can't see that on the Advanced Search at all.

Maybe it's something as simple as a snapshot not having been taken recently.

Just to correct that opening post; Pray for Haiti is listed on the Advanced Search. It's on the last page created when 'rap', 'main albums' and 'from 2021' - 'to 2021' are selected and in the filter options, with the list ordered by 'AllMusic Rating'.

Indeed strange, since the Can Live in Stuttgart 1975 album that came out last week is showing up properly.

We'll take a look.
