Let's talk about Eurodance and a subgenre called "Bubblegum dance"
I've always been confused by the "Eurodance" genre. There are some things I don't understand.
When I listen to Eurodance songs from the beginning (90's), Eurodance sounds like Italo House. Then, I looked at the naming history of Eurodance. Eurodance became known in the mid 90's, when Corona released "The Rhythm of the Night". Then I listened to the song, and it sounded like... Europop?
Some press sites and music services are also confused by this genre. Most common people think that Eurodance is Europop!
Also, from this Eurodance came a mixed genre called "Bubblegum dance", a mixed genre of bubblegum pop and Eurodance. The term is popular among dance video game fans. Do you know any music experts who discuss this genre? Can we dive deeper into this genre?

The picture (above) is a screenshot of Wikipedia article of Corona's "The Rhythm of the Night". The music experts are confused with the genre of the song (Evening Express & Idolator). The Idolator also stated that Haddaway's "What is Love" is also pop.

The picture above this text is from Billboard. They say O-Zone's "Dragostea Din Tei" as "Euro dance-pop"... What is Euro dance-pop?

This is from Spotify. People confuse Eurodance with Europop.

Ok this is where the term "Bubblegum dance" started. Barbie Girl is Eurodance, right? Maybe... But, if you open the reference that Wikipedia's editors used to say it's Bubblegum pop, you will see there are Billboard and Powerstation! Even music experts confused it with pop music.
