Can you add Tidal as an option to be the priority streaming service?
Self explanatory in the title
Hi Eric.
Adding new streaming services is a challenge for a number of reasons.
1. We need to try to automatically link as many albums and artists from our database to the service's database.
Some places make that relatively easy with APIs and scripts, and some don't offer a simple way to do that.
The good news is that Tidal does offer an API.
2. The streaming service needs to allow an embedded player to be on our site (so we can actually display the results on our page and let users stream).
The good news is that Tidal allows embeds.
3. In order for us to put in this level of work (writing scripts, embedding players, running lengthy linking projects on literally millions of albums and artists, we need to make sure the streaming service will be popular enough to justify the effort (the "Bang For Buck" principle) and so far Tidal does not seem to have the adoption of the other services:

We're always looking to add new services and partnerships but until the adoption rate hits critical mass, Tidal may not be high on the list.
This is an ever-changing world and as things in the industry shift, it is entirely possible that their subscription numbers will climb and they'll become a bigger priority.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Amazon has an affiliate marketing program for affiliated publishers to monetize traffic, but I don't know about the others. (Similar idea about Bandcamp.)
Thank you for the comprehensive reply.
Maybe just keep in mind that Tidal is the only streaming platform integrated with Roon (other than QBuz) such that the user can seamlessly integrate their own digital files with those they don’t have, via Tidal. It’s amazing.
What’s also amazing is how *tightly* AllMusic is integrated into Roon’s interface. It’s what you may think is on Spotify, but on a whole other level. Ratings, advanced search, filters, user tagging of results, managing various releases of an album, etc. I pay for it *because* of its integration with BOTH AllMusic and a streaming platform.
Anyway, my point is that Roon’s implementation is everything you could want to continue showcasing AllMusic’s contributions and outright breadth and power for music discovery. We’re just a step away from an even more truly killer AllMusic full integration and showcase. Try a Roon and Tidal trial subscription at the same time to try out what I’m saying, even if you don’t have your own digital files to integrate.
Given Tidal’s not even in the popularity running, I thought I’d make the case that even if not most popular Roon, with Tidal and AllMusic, is *best* in class and deserves some extra love.
Thanks for listening.
We're already involved in the Amazon affiliate program. If you click on (most) of the Amazon links on AllMusic we add our affiliate tag to the end of the URL and if the user buys anything we get a tiny affiliate commission.
We're still looking into a Bandcamp widget (we love the fact that lots of stuff on Bandcamp may not be on the bigger streaming services AND the cut to the artist is better), but that has its own set of complications.
12/7/25 Another vote for Tidal. My family just dropped Spotify as others have and picked Tidal for their better artist payments. Thanks for being there for us.
Some good news about Bandcamp album links on AllMusic: https://www.allmusic.com/blog/post/more-ways-to-stream-and-sample-on-allmusic
