What's with this stooping to greedy to rip off music fans?

I don't ask this lightly, but why use greedy as an excuse to justify "operating costs" and to rip people off like myself who have fixed income and are not multi-millionaires? That's not right? I do believe that I'm being betrayed and ripped off.

We would love it if you would keep visiting AllMusic, even if you don't have the money to subscribe or donate.

The site is still free for music fans to browse and research with no limitations based on whether or not you have the $16 a year to subscribe or not.

If you feel as though our request for users to subscribe and help us out is an insult or an affront to you personally, I hope to reassure you it is not.

(laughing) Well that means that you don't want some of us around who already are being discarded by society. ;-)

Hi Dana.

We're at a point where our old methods of keeping the site going (ad revenue) has dropped to the point that we can no longer stay in operation relying on them, so we're hoping that if we can increase subscribers we can balance out that loss of income.

I'm sorry that you see it as being greedy but it's the simple truth.
We need new methods of generating money to replace the loss of ad revenue.
