I am a paid AllMusic subscriber and started getting ads again

my experience has been ad free for months but today I started seeing ads on your site. I have cleared my cache as suggested, and have tried logging out and back in, but the issue remains. Has there been a recent update to your site that may have introduced this bug? I am using SSO with my google account to log in.

Whew.

When we rebuilt the codebase, we ended up using the same naming convention for the Subscriber cookie but the actual format of the cookie itself is different, so subscribed users are put in this state where the browser is checking for the cookie, finding it, but then it is different than it expected, then the browser just throws its hands up and says "I have no idea what to do here" so sometimes you get ads and sometimes you don't.

Glad it got resolved.

Hi Jonathan,

We did recently make codebase changes to the site and updated encryption methods.
Some folks are reporting issues when the older cookie for removing ads is conflicting with the new cookie we try to set.

Removing any old cookies might be best way to get everything back working properly (with no old cookies lingering to confuse and conflict with the new code).

A couple of other things to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Are you seeing ads while logged in and visiting a page you've never been to before?

2. Do you get ads if you are logged in and add a "?test" to the end of the URL and hit enter?
Or follow this link: https://www.allmusic.com?test

3. Do you get ads if you log in on a different browser?

Sorry about this.
Hopefully we can get it solved for you.

Clearing cookies fixed it. I only cleared cache before and didn't think to do cookies too. thanks for your quick response!
