song and performance entities

At album-level, the soundtrack credits its first track's composer only to "Traditional".  But at song-level, two composers are added.

From Los Lobos' version, I discovered that the song was "also performed by" Lalo Guerrero in collaboration with the band.  When I click on their song collaboration though, it's instead linked to Los Lobos' own version.  The album that released their collaborative version wasn't listed among the albums where the band's own version appears on (the same song page on which I discovered the song was also performed by Lalo Guerrero in collaboration with the band).

I'm confused.

Yep. Metadata is very complicated when it comes to traditional songs being performed by well-known musicians.

The data team usually tries to faithfully reproduce what is on the album credits, then we have some processes that try algorithmically to pull together performances of a song that may have variations in that credit data.

Not all of these piles of spaghetti can be easily de-tangled.

Ok Zac, here's a non-traditional composition.  At song-level, there's only one composer.  At album-level, the Primary Artist is incorrectly added as a composer.  Despite the correct composer credited at song-level, Tyler's song cover didn't have an "also performed by" section (unlike the correct composer's original recording of her own song)..
