Tracker Timezone

Hello,

Is there an update on changing the timezone of the tracker? I would like to see the time the episode will premiere in my timezone.

Thank you!

The standard time zone library we use seems to have some time zones with the more aesthetically pleasing three-letter abbreviations and some time zones that just say GMT +3.

We have a task in our backlog to see if there is a better solution for this but we have not had luck in finding an off-the-shelf solution.

Hello Dan

Is there an update on the aesthetic comment I mentioned above?

The +03 highlighted in the picture above looks odd and unpleasant aesthetically. I assume that it is there to inform me that I have selected GMT+3 but it might be better if the time zone is above the tracker (Example Below).

Thank you!

Hello

So I just checked the tracker and it now shows the air time more accurately to my time zone but there is a small issue. It is currently Thursday 2AM where I live but the tracker is highlighting Wednesday. Is there a fix for this?

Also this isn't an issue it is just an aesthetic thing but is there a way to make this (picture below) look any better?

Can you please tell us what time zone you have selected in your profile?

Hello

I am happy to help!

I assumed that you were working to implement the x-amount of hours from Eastern Time Zone method which is how it was done previously. I believe this is the easiest method and you should apply it again.

As a user I only alter between GMT+3 or GMT depending on the location I am in. So I am not aware of different air times of some shows. I never had an issue with the previous method and it actually helped me track my shows better. Using the same example of The Simpsons it airs on Sunday 8 pm (which is shown on the tracker) but for me it actually airs on Monday 3 am. The previous website would show me that it airs Monday at 3 am which is more accurate.

Also based on my memory of using the previous website since 2011/2012 and the forums similar to this I do not recall anyone complaining about the previous method.

So just to wrap it up I believe the old method was perfect and you should implement it again.

I hope this helped!

OK we've rolled out a fix that at least gets us closer to displaying the airtimes in your time zone.

Please take a look and let us know if this is better: https://www.sidereel.com/tracker

While you're here, I have a quick question for you as a user.

We have the ability to just take the airtimes and add or subtract x-amount of hours so that the shows are much closer to what you would expect BUT there are some shows (like The Simpsons) that might air at 8pm in the US Eastern Time Zone and then air at 8pm in the US Pacific time zone.

Our initial method of just adding or subtracting from the US Eastern Time Zone would mean that The Simpsons would display as airing at 5pm on the West Coast of the States. We know this isn't exactly correct, but is this what the old functionality was like? Do you recall?

Thanks!

Hi,

This is still in our backlog of items to put in place, but we do not have a timeframe on when it will be available.

Thanks
