Why are there so many compilations in my recommendations now?

With the recent update to recommendations, the recommendations have become almost unusable for me. 90% of my recs are either:

* Ones I've rated before: (I saw the previous question from 3 months ago, but this is still occurring) 

* Compilation albums: These rarely showed up under the old rec list, but now most of my recommendations are some form of compilation album.

Is there anything I can do on my end to fix this, or if not, is there a estimated timeline for the recs to be fixed?

We've made some updates to our recommendations, limiting compilations and hiding albums you've already rated.

We hope to roll out a fix early next week to remove the abundance of compilations in recommendations.

We're also working on methods to hide the albums you've already rated.

We're still working on improving recommendations.

The reason more compilations are showing up is because the new recommendations engine relies heavily on the editorial star rating, and many of the "Best Of" compilations are rated highly in our system.

This is something we've noticed as well and I agree that it is less helpful than being recommended main albums.

Thanks for your patience. We've got lots of irons in the fire at the moment but this is not off our radar.
