Miss the old days

I'd pay for the old side reel. They want to make money by doing nothing but sending me to amazon for all shows I'm looking for. Was feeling nostalgic for 90's/early 2000's goth era shows that Fox always canceled after a season or 2 but were way better than anything today. Came to side reel that I remember watching some things on, and they just send me to a link of amazon searched with said show... like... ugh... the show isn't even on amazon... and I could have looked on amazon myself. Because honestly who doesn't have prime?

I'd support and pay this site if it was an internet meta crawler like it used to be. I could search an old show, and it might list me 10 mirrors/sites and i'd have to find which site worked for those sites.... but i could watch an entire season of a show through side reel by compiling it though those 10+ sites. Now side reel just says "hey amazon search this show" and its not even there....

this site became useless... so sad

Yea sadly things aren't as openly available/free as they once were. But honestly I can't find value in it. The problem is that some of these old shows are hard these days to find anywhere, on any streaming service. The value of old being that I could watch a season of an old show on side reel even if it had to be made up from different sites.

The tracker really isn't useful in my opinion, simply because when you do find a streaming service a show is on, it kind of just marks off the episodes you've watched. And if you forgot if you've watched a show, then its probably going to be fresh enough to watch again if you choose lol.

Yeah, I think a lot of us miss the old days of SideReel. Unfortunately the rights holders to all of those TV shows kinda got upset with that business model and the site received a lot of ... encouragement to not point people to the "gray market" sources where those shows could be streamed or downloaded for free.

We're hoping that people can still find value in the Tracker element of the site: Allowing TV fans to rate and follow shows, create lists, mark off which episodes they've seen and find out when shows are airing via the Tracker calendar.
