Watched Shows in Tracker: We Are Up To Date!

Folks, I believe we have made great strides in getting the Tracker to be more useful in displaying the shows you are up-to-date on.

As of today's update, your tracker should be showing you only the shows that are available for you to watch, based on your watch events, and when shows are available.

NOTE: Please do not do any tracking, rating or reviewing in the old, frozen "cf sidereel" site.
None of that new input is making it over to the current database.

Shows with a status of "Upcoming" should be hidden when you select "Hide Watched Shows" and shows with episodes that have not yet aired should also be hidden until their airtime has passed.

For example, if I am tracking "Blindspot" and am up to date as of the episode that aired on Thursday, June 18th, that show will be hidden to me.

When Thursday, June 25th at 9pm Eastern rolls around, the show will appear in your list with the current ep as Next Unwatched Episode after its airtime.

We're still seeing some strange one-off issues when a show does not have an airtime, or is not entered in the data properly, so please let us know if you see things that should be hidden but are still appearing.

The other thing of note is that the site does not instantly update the entire view of a show in Tracker every time you click a watch event. If you mark the most recent episode as Watched, your Next Unwatched Episode info may not indicate "You are up to date!" at that moment, and it will not make the show disappear from the view until you refresh the page.

Take a look and hopefully this will be a more useful tool for you to find the shows you want to watch.

Hi Zac,

This all seems to be working great on mine now, with all up to date shows being hidden. However, I'm not sure if these issues are related, but I now have around 20 shows I am not up to date with, that are saying 'up to date'. These were showing correctly before, but now seem to have issues. I can list specific shows if that helps?

Thanks again for all your help!

N

There also seems to be an issue where my 'next episode' isn't the actual next episode. For example, on Fuller House, I have only watched Season 1, but my next episode to watch is displaying randomly as Season 3 Episode 14. This is happening on a few shows.

Thanks Nicole,

Yeah, sending those examples along would be helpful.

If you can post screenshots (it looks like you have to start a new "Reply" in this forum and not just a "Comment" in order to post a screenshot), that would be super-helpful.

No prob!

So the shows that are showing as up to date when I still have episodes outstanding are:

  • 24
  • American Horror Story
  • Californication
  • Dark
  • Dear White People
  • Dexter
  • Downton Abbey
  • Elite
  • Homeland
  • The Leftovers
  • Malcolm in the Middle
  • The Order
  • The Originals
  • Orphan Black
  • The Politician
  • Scandal
  • Suits
  • Ugly Delicious
  • Veronica Mars
  • Weeds

Screenshot of 24 below for an example. I will add another post for the second issue.

Awesome. Thanks for this. Care to do a hard refresh and try again?

SM

I am not up to date on the show The Order but it shows as up to date but still as unwatched, as you can see I still have un watched episodes

Can you re-load the page and see if it's better?   We just rolled  out a fix.

Thanks

SM

Looks good now, thanks!

Issue 2 - Shows showing the wrong 'next unwatched episode:

  • 90 Day Fiance (Watched up to end of S3. Next unwatched is S4E11)
  • 90 Day Fiance Happily Ever After (Watched up to end of S1. Next unwatched ep is S3E13)
  • Archer (Watched up to end of S1. Next unwatched ep is S2E11)
  • Entourage (Watched up to end of S1. Next unwatched ep is S2E09)
  • Final Space (Watched up to end of S1. Next unwatched ep is S2E11)
  • The Fosters (Watched up to end of S1. Next unwatched ep is S3E14)
  • Line of Duty (Watched up to end of S1. Next unwatched ep is S2E06)
  • Lucifer (Watched up to end of S1. Next unwatched ep is S2E14)

There are around 10-15 more examples of these. I can type them all up if you want a full list. I have added a screenshot of Lucifer as an example below.

Can you re-load the page and see if it's better?   We just rolled  out a fix.

Thanks

Awesome!!  Just a few thing I noticed...

1) when I log out or refresh the page the tracker defaults to all shows even if I had previously clicked current shows.  Not sure if I'm explaining this right but the old site would stay on current shows even if I closed the page and then reopened the page.

2) some shows that were previously aired in the UK or Canada and are now currently airing here are still labeled as being on hiatus while others. For example Grantchester is listed as current but Beecham House is listed as hiatus even though both are airing on the same night.  Also Bulletproof is listed as hiatus while Burden of Truth is listed as current.  Psych is listed as hiatus when it should be concluded.

Thanks for all your hard work!

J

If this is the wrong place to put this, I'm so sorry. I wasn't sure where I was supposed to put these things anymore. Here's a list of shows that are marked current on My Tracker but are not:

  • 13 Reasons Why
  • America's Got Talent: The Champions
  • America's Top Dog
  • The Biggest Loser
  • Black Lightning
  • Blue Bloods
  • Brain Games
  • Briarpatch
  • Bull
  • Catfish: The TV Show
  • Crikey! It's the Irwin's
  • FBI
  • FBI: Most Wanted
  • Flirty Dancing
  • God Friended Me
  • The Good Doctor
  • The Good Fight
  • The Great Food Truck Race (4,5 and 6th episodes are missing)
  • Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector
  • MacGyver
  • Magnum P.I.
  • The Masked Singer
  • NCIS: Los Angeles
  • The Outsider
  • Ride with Norman Reedus
  • The Sinner
  • Siren
  • Star Trek: Picard
  • Summer House
  • This Is Us

Sorry that's a lot of shows. No hurry. I think they are on hiatus but I'm not sure. Where do we go to find our lists from before or are they gone?

We hope to have lists back on the site within the next two weeks.

Could you add to your list making filter by sticky liked watched/unwatched?  (ie If I select "Current Shows" then refresh it should stay that way rather than reverting to "All Shows" the same way "Unwatched Only" doesn't revert upon refresh.)

Thanks!!

We sometimes go back and forth on this kind of functionality because for some users this makes total sense, but for other users if you default to keeping the last view, when the user comes back to the page a week later and doesn't see all of their shows listed (because the filter was still enabled), sometimes this causes confusion.

I'd like to see what the group consensus is on this topic.

S

I get that. I believe sticky was the way the old site worked but that doesn't necessarily mean it's right.

Accident, suicide, or murder on the oxygen network has not had the last three or four episodes in it.  Also cold Justice does not have is new episode.  Thanks and have a wonderful day.
